'GOLDEN HOUR' miniatures

The light cast on the prairie landscape during the golden hour is a magical and seductive presence. It bathes the long low prairie horizon with fluorescence and silhouettes the flora with touches of darkness and drama. Time and activity all seem to still as the landscape is washed in the golden light.

I enjoy shifting the scale of the work I create, as it allows me to bring greater attention to the micro environment of the prairies. The ‘Golden Hour’ series of monoprints is captured through tiny silhouettes of hand-cut stencils and dramatic fluorescent pigment using my tiny 3-D printed intaglio printing press.
