'THE PATTERN OF PRAIRIE' Monoprints in Encaustic Wax
The horizon is an ever-present element of a prairie vista, an element that grounds a vast wondering sky to the wide varied flatness of the great plain. Looking to the horizon is a quintessential aspect of life on the prairies, one that orientates and establishes a sense of place. The prairie horizon and its defining light are reoccurring motifs in my work. The PATTERN OF PRAIRIE series of hand-pulled monoprints in encaustic wax, relay my visual musings of land and sky and the horizon that divides them.
